Strengthening Local Development in Ambrolauri

Since August 2025, the Ambrolauri Local Action Group has been implementing the project - Strengthening Local Development in Ambrolauri, in the framework of the EU-supported project "New Life for Mountainous Georgia".

The project aims to:
  • Strengthen operations of the Ambrolauri Local Action Group
  • Establish the Ambrolauri Innovations' Hub, which will support the local population in implementing innovative projects
  • Streamline implementation of the 2024-2028 Local Development Strategy and the activities of the Ambrolauri LAG and ensure involvement of the local stakeholders
  • Hold workshops for youth to prepare a detailed action plan for the youth direction of the strategy
  • Carry out a series of trainings and master classes to support the implementation of the local development strategy in the following areas:
    • Social media management
    • Project/business plan preparation
    • Photo-video shooting master class
    • Meetings with successful entrepreneurs to share knowledge and experience
    • Master class by students and graduates of the faculty of Information Technologies targeting ICT skills development among students of Ambrolauri schools
    • Application of the artificial intelligence (AI)
    • Creating innovative projects and generating ideas
    • Online marketing and its advantages
  • Carry out the screening of a documentary film on global development trends to young people, which is intended to inspire young people to implement innovations on the ground
  • Hold a thematic competition “Yet to be discovered Ambrolauri” in the field of tourism - where the local youth (aged 18 to 30) will have the opportunity to participate in a competition, where they will discover and develop materials on a lesser known sites with tourism potential in Ambrolauri
  • Pilot an ideathon to generate new ideas in the field of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and establish it as an annual event. Within the framework of the ideathon, commercial and non-commercial ideas will be generated and processed by teams.
